Summer 2014, in an old carpentry transformed in a secluded laboratory, as withdrawn from the space-time , five friends, who came to play music, turned into alchemist novices : the shape-shifting matter which filled, for one week, the great workshop without windows became out of control; like a strongly cinematic musical saga , like a factory of stories both thrilling and exhilarating, sometimes merry and lively, sometimes odd and eerie. Suspens, stress, happiness, danger and love. If the first piece could allude to the spying of a secret muttering of amoebas willing to transform the basical nature of beings, another one sounds like a crazy race of sweet zombies running to escape from evil killer children... And for the other pieces, everyone is free to experiment the DRAME LP listening and make their own scenarios.
DRAME BY MARTIAL, RECORD DEALER (TOTAL HEAVEN, BORDEAUX)
The bells you hear first on the record from DRAME bring up that good old Moondog, less than a second later, we are already gone to CAN. A hook besides Philip Glass, a stop on the parking of the great french early 80's compilation "Cosmic Machine", then on the road again, with Stereolab, Silver Apples, Emperor Machine, etc, etc, etc... Even if it's a little shallow to be "name dropping" on this beautiful and ideal trip. Hard to avoid anyway, with this party of voracious music listeners. Like the BEAK> of Geoff Barrow, which is a sound react to his Portishead which has became so huge, DRAME started like a "easement-bubble" of the live band from Rubin Steiner. Curious and not snooty, the five musicians jammed for three days with a minimum gear (conga drums, percussions, drums and synths), with Quentin Rollet as saxophonist guest and the famous drum machine Roland TR-808 as a conductor (sic). They ended up with a welcoming and warm music.
She easily hypnotised the one who like to shake hips when it is needed. And it is now "100% instrumental and 100%live" tells us Fred. Computer free, we are enticed to say. Because DRAME lives. They capture the air vibes et transformed them in electrical waves. It's magic. It's analogic. The digital, the transcription of this waves with computer algorithms, is here banned. It's the evil. The good here prevails. Feel the difference.
